Francis Poulenc's Figure Humaine is one of the masterpieces of twentieth-century choral music. Written during the Second World War to poems by Paul Éluard, it is a profound musical journey culminating in the celebrated hymn to freedom, Liberté.
This atelier is designed for national youth choirs to explore Poulenc's luminous harmonies, expressive a cappella writing and emotional intensity. Together we will bring this extraordinary work to life in a powerful festival performance.
